MEDICAL TOURISM IN KERALA-ROLE OF KOTTAKKAL ARYA VAIDYA SALA, MALAPPURAM
Abstract
The medical tourism industry offers high potential for Kerala primarily because of its inherent advantages in terms of cost and quality. Medical tourism involves travel for the purpose of receiving medical, dental, or surgical care and represents a rapidly growing niche market within the healthcare, tourism, and hospitality industries. A destination is a medical tourism destination not just because of the health care facility available there but also because of the additional provision of destination attractions, both natural and cultural, accommodation, and other amenities. In kerala there are a lot of resorts and hospitals which are providing medical tourism facilities .These hospitals are providing a lot of facilities more than treatment and because of this foreigners prefer Kerala for medical tourism. Kottakal Arya Vaidya Sala is having a prominent role in promoting medical tourism in Kerala. They are providing more than 500 treatments and other amenities to the patients and customers. They have over 900 authorized dealer network for the sale of their ayurvedic medicines.
