KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT: PRINCIPLE AND STRATEGY

Abstract


Knowledge management is the creation and subsequent management of an environment which encourages knowledge to be created, shared, learnt, enhanced, organised and utilised for the benefit of the organisation and its customers.  Knowledge management is an planned and on-going management of activities and processes for leveraging knowledge to enhance competitiveness through better use and creation of individual and collective knowledge resources. Knowledge management is the systematic management of an organization's knowledge assets for the purpose of creating value and meeting tactical & strategic requirements; it consists of the initiatives, processes, strategies, and systems that sustain and enhance the storage, assessment, sharing, refinement, and creation of knowledge.

knowledge management can play an important role in exploits existing knowledge assets by re-deploying them in areas where the firm stands to gain something through promoting a long term focus on developing the right competencies and skills and removing obsolete knowledge in order to enhances the firm's ability to protect its key knowledge and competencies from being lost and also enhances the firm's ability to innovate. Knowledge management efforts typically focus on organisational objectives such as improved performance, competitive advantage, innovation, the sharing of lessons learned, integration and continuous improvement of the organisation.

The objective of this research paper is present the overview of knowledge management.  It looks at a range of strategies, principles and other perspectives which can be used to help capture, transfer, share and create knowledge. The purpose of the study is to collecting  the information or knowledge  about the different approaches , various principles related to knowledge management through  different  manager,  experts of  organization and  HR promoters ’ point of view by using different strategies .

We have seen that different number of HR organisations use the concept of knowledge management in the organization to maintain and improve their workforces. Today, organisations are more integrate and familiar regarding the valuable contribution of knowledge management in the success of organisation. However we also discovered that companies, to enhance the knowledge of their work force, use the knowledge management as a strong weapon or equipment within organization.
